Proclamation Number 160, series of 1999, by former President Joseph Estrada, declares the last week of October every year as “Food Safety Awareness Week”. During this celebration, the Department of Agriculture (DA) emphasized the importance of food safety in improving the quality of the country’s Agriculture and Fisheries.
For this year 2022, the celebration was held from October 24-28 with the theme: “Sapat at Ligtas na Pagkain, Ating Adhikain, Sa Hapag ng Bawat Pamilyang Pilipino, Ating Siguruhin.”
In support of this, FDC conducted a 3-part webinar series entitled “Sapat at Ligtas na Pagkain, Teknolohiya’y Gamitin!” last October 26, 2022, where various food safety specialists of FDC discussed safe food preparation methods, appropriate practices, and the correct registration of new food products.
