The Food Development Center has conducted an online “Capacity Building Webinar Series” exclusively for DA Food Safety Regulatory Agencies (FSRAs) and Integrated Laboratory Divisions (ILDs), in support to FDC’s capacity-building initiatives stated in the DA Department Order No. 6 Series of 2021.

The following topics were covered:

  • Awareness on Equipment Maintenance and Calibration (November 28) – This webinar familiarizes the participants with the requirements of ISO 9001:2015 and ISO/1EC 17025:2017 on Facilities, Equipment and Calibration, the importance of equipment maintenance and calibration, different types of maintenance and differentiation of calibration from verification.
  • Preservation and Maintenance of Reference Culture on (November 29) – This webinar sets a baseline and or additional information on the preservation and maintenance of Reference Cultures; develop and/or improve laboratory practices in handling Reference Cultures and appreciate the importance of having an established procedure on preservation and maintenance of Reference Cultures
  • ISO Control of Documents Webinar for Document Control Custodian (DCC) and Unit Custodian (UC) (December 7, 2022) – This webinar is designed to equip participants with necessary knowledge and skills to be an efficient Document Control Custodian (DCC) or Unit Custodian (UC) in accordance with the requirements of ISO 9001 and ISO/IEC 17025 on documented information.
